Somewhere is a young company with the global ambition to help people share and discover work that matters to them. Their small, highly motivated team is radically rethinking outdated recruitment processes by facilitating truly meaningful connections between people and companies. The traditional human resources and recruiting industries have long been dominated by functional, transactional, algorithmic methods of matching.
Somewhere’s approach is to spark connections between people on more meaningful work factors such as how they work, what they believe and what they aspire to. Their evocative approach creates deeper, more emotional connections which are more important determinants to successful, long-term work relationships.
Visitors to Somewhere’s online platform explore and discover visual insights and stories into how people and companies work and how individuals interact, create, collaborate and get things done. What visitors don’t immediately see are the company’s name, business face, product or even website.
In this way, people seeking work can find an entry point into a company based on an intuitive, emotional level. When people start from this basis instead of reading generic job descriptions, there’s a far better chance there’s a genuinely good, organic fit. People are also empowered to express who they really are by sharing personal information in response to questions a company crafts.
Balancing many different priorities in tackling a global industry with a small team.
I need to be spending my time supporting and working with my team rather than being the printer guy. So it’s with relief that ezeep has made the workday a bit simpler by just letting me print without the rigmarole.
As the captain of his ship, Justin is a hands-on leader. And, as is typical of visionary startups, Somewhere’s biggest challenge is managing a smooth workflow in the face of often overwhelming demands.
We like getting off our screens and working with paper. When it comes to printing, we tend only to print the most important documents – whether that’s a legal document, an employee contract or even a boarding pass. Of course there’s always admin- and business-related printing–like invoices, company documents or forms. There are also more meaningful printouts that help our core service design process–like visualizing user flows or even running through some mock-ups of future features. Printing these things allows us to see and interact in a different way to looking on-screen.
ezeep was recommended to us as a way to simplify printing and manage things in the cloud. It looked simple so we decided to give it a shot. In the past, it took forever to set-up and sync accounts, download drivers, and get IT help to fix all the things that kept going wrong and, even then, it was still a lottery. And even then only I could print not my team – so I really was the printer guy! I need to be spending my time supporting and working with my team rather than being the printer guy. So it’s with relief that ezeep has made the workday a little bit simpler by just letting me print without the rigmarole.
